2 killed as tank lorry ploughs thru’ tea stall in Dinajpur

A tank lorry ploughed into a roadside tea shop at Kaugao area in Dinajpur Sadar upazila early Saturday (May 11), killing two people.

The incident happened around 5.15am at Kaugao area of the upazila.

The deceased were identified as night guard Azhar Ali, 60, and Rana, 25, who came to the tea stall to have a cup of tea.

Farid Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station, confirmed the news.

The OC said the accident occurred around 5:15 am when the tank lorry ploughed into a tea stall as its driver lost control over the vehicle, leaving two dead on the spot.

Driver of the tank lorry and his helper have been arrested in this connection, added the police official.
