3 of a family among 4 killed in Faridpur road crash

Four people, including three members of a family, were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents at Bhanga upazila in Faridpur district on Saturday morning.

The accidents took place around 8 am at Koidubi Sadardi and around 11am at Hamerdi area under the upazila.

Three members of a family, including a father and his son, were killed in a crash between a truck and their motorcycle at Bhanga upazila in Faridpur district around 11 am.

The deceased were identified as Kashem Shikder, 40, his son Morsalin, 8, and brother Nazmul Shikder, 37. All were residents of Koyaldia village under Moksedpur upazila in Gopalganj district.

Confirming the matter, Bhanga Highway Police Station sub-inspector Abdul Baki said Kashem along with his brother and son were heading towards Faridpur riding on a motorcycle. The trio faced the tragic accident when they reached in Hamerdi bus stand and collided head-on with a truck coming from opposite direction, leaving the child Morsalin dead on the spot.

Locals rescued critically injured Kashem and Nazmul and took them to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared them dead, said SI Abdul Baki.

On the other hand, a school student was killed as a bus of Hanif Paribahan collided with an Easy Bike at Koidubi Sadardi under Bhanga upazila at around 8 am.

The deceased was identified as Srabonti Akter, 16, daughter of Shahadat Hossain.
