Bappi murder: One gets death penalty, 5 life term

A Khulna court has sentenced one person to death and five others to life imprisonment in a case filed over the sensational murder of  schoolboy Mofijul Islam Bappi.

Two persons have been acquitted in the case.

Khulna Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge SM Ashikur Rahman announced the verdict on Wednesday noon.

The verdict has been announced after 10 years.

The death penalty convict is Roky, son of Abdul Mannan in Khalishpur area of Khulna. The court has also fined him Tk 20,000.

According to the case statement, Mofijul Islam Bappy, 16, a student of Khalishpur Platinum Jubilee Jute Mills School, was killed on October 10 in 2010.
