3 farmers killed in Sirajganj lightning strikes

Three farmers were killed and three others injured in separate lightning strikes in Shahjadpur, Ullapara and Kazipara upazilas of Sirajganj on Tuesday (June 15).

The deceased were identified as Atik Hasan, 30, son of Ali from Koira village of Ullapara upazila, Nazrul Islam, 45, from Soratoil village of Shahjadpur upazila and Farid Uddin, 48, from Purbo Jajira village of Kazipara upazila.

The injured are Rabiul Islam, 45; Saiful Islam, 42 and Johurul Islam, 25 and they were admitted to different hospitals.

Shahjadpur upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Shah Md Shamsuzzoha, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ullapara Model Thana Dipak Kumar Das and Nischintapur union parishad chairman of Kazipur upazila Jalal Uddin confirmed the incidents of separate lightning strikes.
