Results of 54,000 teachers recruitment get stuck

Discussions are underway among the candidates as to when the Non-Government Teacher Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) will recommend the recruitment of 54,000 teachers. However, the NTRCA says that the results will be released only after receiving the certified copy of the verdict made by the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) revoking the order of the High Court (HC) to appoint 2,500 registered holders as teachers. But the 2,500 job seekers now expressed willingness to file review petition for the verdict of the Appellate Division. As a result, the final result of 54,000 teachers got stuck until the final verdict of the review.

When asked, NTRCA Secretary Dr A T M Mahbub-ul Karim said, “The Appellate Division gave the verdict in favour to us. This is landmark verdict.”

He further said, “If the restrictions of strict lockdown announced by the government are relaxed, we hope to get a certified copy of the verdict within 3/4 days. The results of 54,000 teachers’ appointment will be released within 24 hours after receiving the copy.”

Dr ATM Mahbub-ul Karim said, “All the ancillary works have been completed for publishing the results.”

Mohammad Siddique Ullah Miah, a lawyer for the candidates, said the decision on the next step (review) would be taken after receiving a copy of the verdict.”
