PM mourns death of lawmaker Anwarul Azim

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (May 22) expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Member of Parliament and Jhenaidah district’s Kaliganj Upazila Awami League (AL) President Anwarul Azim (Anar).

In a condolence message, she prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

MP Anwarul Azim, who is a resident of the Nischintapur village in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah, went to West Bengal of India on May 12. He went out to see a physician the next day and did not return. Later, his severed body was recovered from a flat in New Town area of Kolkata on Wednesday (May 22).

Azim was the AL lawmaker from the Jhenaidah-4 constituency.
