All activities at Mongla port suspended

All activities at Mongla port have been suspended until further notice due to inclement weather caused by cyclone Remal.

Holidays of all staff and employees at the port have been cancelled due to the cyclone.

The decision came at a meeting held on Sunday (May 26) morning with chairman of Mongla Port Authority Rear Admiral Shaheen Rahman in the chair.

“All loading and unloading activities at the jetty were suspended, and all ships in the outer harbour were sent to the deep sea to prevent damage from the strong winds and waves during the cyclone,” the meeting said.
