Educational institutions at coastal areas to be closed

All educational institutions in coastal areas will remain closed on Monday due to the severe cyclonic storm Remal.

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Mohibur Rahman said this in a press conference around 9:30 pm on Sunday (May 26).

He said that all educational institutions in the area were closed on Monday. However, the staff and others are directed to stay in the educational institutions so that shelter seekers get assistance.

The cyclonic storm Remal started crossing the Khepupara coast of Bangladesh from the southwest side of Mongla around 8:00pm.

Earlier on Sunday evening (May 26), meteorologist Shahnaj Sultana said that the cyclone started crossing the coast of Bangladesh. It may take 9pm to 10 pm to completely cross the coastal areas.
