Dhaka`s rail link with North Bengal resumes

The train services of Dhaka with northern parts resumed on Thursday morning (May 9) after five hours of suspension following a derailment at Muladuli Station in Pabna's Ishward upazila.

Confirming the matter, Shah Sufi Noor Mohammad, the Pakshi Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Western Railway, said the train movement on the route became normal around 8:30 am on Thursday as the salvage train cleared the line.

A three-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the incident, he added.

Earlier, a compartment of a Burimari Express train derailed early Thursday, causing a halt to the rail link between Dhaka and the northern regions of Bangladesh.
