Milton Samadder put on fresh 4-day remand

A Dhaka court granted a fresh four-day remand to Milton Samadder, founder of the charity organization "Child and Old Age Care", in a case filed on the charge of creating a fake death certificate through fraud.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Shanta Akter gave passed the order after the hearing on Sunday (May 5).

Earlier, the investigating officer of the case Mirpur zonal team Detective Branch (DB) Sub Inspector (SI) Mohammad Kamal Hossain produced the accused before the court seeking a seven-day remand.

Meanwhile, Milton's lawyer Abdus Salam Sikder applied for bail to cancel the remand. The state opposed the bail and moved for a remand hearing. After hearing both sides, the court granted Milton Samadder's four-day fresh remand.

Earlier, on May 2, the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain granted three days remand to him.
